Omaha Hi

Omaha poker is played mainly in the form Omaha Hi, that hand wins the pot higher, but the version Hi-lo, where half the pot goes to the highest hand and half the lowest, is very popular in the U.S.. Hi-Lo This version is usually played in the form of a fixed limit, while the regular version is played pot limit, called Omaha Pot Limit. Omaha rules are based on Texas Hold’emwith a few differences, these differences are

  • Players receive 4 hole card – The player must use two and only two cards in his hand and three and only three of the table to build his move.
  • The maximum number of players per table is 10.

The betting rounds are the same as in Texas Hold’em.

Preflop
It starts with the player to the left of the big blind

Flop, Turn and River
Start talking the small blind or, alternatively, the player closest to the left to continue on the play.

Very important to remember that when submitting the letters to form a poker hand must use two cards from your hand and three in the table is mandatory.

Keep in mind that one characteristic is that Omaha is a game of “nuts”. In most hands played someone will have the maximum, so it is advisable not to play projects not maximums. The main problem in the Texas Hold’em players that are passed to Omaha is the overvaluation of couples
